OTHER TECHNIQUES

«True healing begins when you acknowledge the pain

and listen to it. Each of us is the ultimate healer

of his/her own condition, no matter what the cause.»

WHICH OTHER TECHNIQUES ARE USED?

Depending on your needs, we may use other techniques:

NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming)

What is NLP?

In the early 1970’s, Richard Bandler, a student in mathematics, and Dr John Grinder, a linguistics professor, decided to model the therapy skills of extraordinary therapists such as Fritz Perls, the psychiatrist who developed Gestalt therapy; Virginia Satir, the psychotherapist regarded as the 'mother of family therapy'; and Milton Erickson, the psychiatrist who is most well known for mastering medical hypnosis.
In light of their immediate results, Grinder and Bandler formalised their powerful modelling techniques and their own individual contributions under the name of “Neuro-Linguistic Programming” (NLP).

  • Neuro: refers to the nervous system/mind and covers the simple concept that all our behaviours are generated by the way we process information through our senses, constantly filtering and editing the outside world.

  • Linguistic: refers to language and indicates the verbal and non-verbal communication systems we use to organise our thoughts, actions and behaviours.

  • Programming: refers to the programs we choose to run in our neurological system.

To put it simply, NLP helps us understand how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do, and provides us with very effective tools to re-organise and remodel the language of our mind to produce the results we want.

Thanks to NLP, we can change our physiology and our neurology to achieve the mind-body states we desire.

  1. Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique  (QHHT®) - Dolores Cannon

QHHT® is a technique developed by the American hypnotherapist Dolores Cannon, over many decades of practice with thousands of clients. This technique allows all people from any background, culture, religion or belief system to engage with what she called The Subconscious,  but which actually represents this greater part of ourselves that is always connected to the Source and has all the answers to all our questions.

In this time of rapid change and expansion of consciousness, more and more people now understand spiritual concepts that until recently were limited to a few “enlightened ones”. And that’s a good thing, since an open-mind is necessary when doing a QHHT session: Some strange concepts might surprise our thinking process, such as access to past lives or other dimensions, contact with the universal all-knowing Source, answers to questions that have inhabited us since always…

Very often, illnesses -physical or psychological- find their origine in a lesson that we must learn during this lifetime. This concept can, at first, seem incredible. For some of us, it might then be easier to consider the message as being nothing more than a metaphor or a symbol, the main goal being the recognition of the origin of the problem and the lesson that comes with it. Then one must let go. This is when a transformation (or trance-formation!) takes place, changing deeply the client, rapidly - sometimes instantly.

Dolores Cannon can be considered as the pioneer of past life regression: in 1968, she and her husband, Johnny Cannon, found out that a subject could be regressed not only to the beginning of this current life, but also also to previous past lives. One of their clients shocked them when she started to describe her life as a flapper in Chicago in the roaring 1920s.

Past life regression methodology is fundamental to QHHT®, allowing the certified QHHT® to explore past lives, understand the origin of a repetitive pattern, karmic ties between individuals in this current lifetime, other worlds or even life after death…

2. Past Life Regression Therapy - Dr Brian Weiss

A graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical University, Dr Brian Weiss is an American psychiatrist who specialises in past life regression and reincarnation. In the 1980s, while using hypnosis to regress a client to her early childhood, he was surprised, even shocked, to listen to her talk about 4000 year old memories. She was describing one of her past lives. This was, for Dr Weiss, the beginning of a long search and a radical shift in his career as a traditional psychiatrist. Through developing past life therapy, he enabled thousands of patients to heal their physical and emotional pain in their current lives.

What happens in a regression therapy session?

There are 5 main parts:

  1. Presentation of the session and note-taking regarding the client’s life and specific issues (physical, emotional, metaphysical questions)

  2. Relaxation (very deep relaxation)

  3. Regression to childhood then to a past life (or past lives)

  4. Communication with the  “Subconscient”, the “Supra-Consciousness”, the “Source...”

  5. Debriefing

Audrey has been “travelling into past lives” for many years out of curiosity. She now uses this technique in a therapeutic setting, be it to find the origin of an unconscious repetitive pattern, or a chronic issue, a specific illness or ailment etc.

It is possible to do an one-off session.

However, preferably, this session can be done as a 2nd session, following the NLP+Hypnotherapy session, once the main negative emotions have been removed, thus allowing the client and hypnotherapist to get to know each other.

Or this session can be part of the traditional hypnotherapy treatment and replace the 3rd session, or be added as a 4th session.

Cost: 3h30/4h00 - $400

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Since its creation in the 1990’s by Gary Craig, EFT has provided relief to thousands of people for all sorts of conditions such as phobias, allergies, anxiety etc. EFT is a form of acupressure technique that works on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture.

The treatment involves tapping acupressure points on the head, chest and hands with the fingertips, while expressing your issue and moving towards positivity through the process of possibility. This action releases emotional and physical blockages in your energy system, thus restoring the right balance between mind and body so necessary to optimal health. Once the technique has been learnt, it can be used as a self-help tool, empowering you to actively contribute to your own healing.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

In the late 1980’s, Dr Francine Shapiro observed that eye movements reduced the intensity of disturbing thoughts and memories.
“In EMDR, the emphasis is on allowing the information processing system in the brain to make the internal connections needed to resolve the disturbance. The person only needs to focus briefly on the disturbing memory.” Dr Francine Shapiro.
Since then, her technique has developed and evolved to relieve many types of psychological stress and severe trauma.

EMDR has a direct effect on the way the brain processes information, thus allowing normal information processing to resume. The memory is still there. However, the trauma is gone.

Imagery / visualisation

A 1967 study by stress researcher Edmund Jacobson found that visualising an activity produces small, but measurable reactions in the muscles involved in the imagined activity.

Imagery, or visualisation, invites us to use our imagination to form pictures in our mind. In fact, imagery has been described as the language of the unconscious. However, the most powerful visualisation uses all senses, not just pictures: sight, sound, feelings, taste, smells and inner dialogue too. The key to successful imagery is to be as creative and imaginative as you can.

Writing

The combination of writing and hypnosis has tremendous power. Writing helps us clarify what we want in life. Rather than having fleeting ideas of what we hope will happen, by writing down the exact thing we want, we allow it to become real to our unconscious mind.

Remember: the unconscious mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination.
